Daan van Beek
Daan van Beek studied Informatics in Organizations at the Open University in Rotterdam and then completed his Masters in Information and Knowledge technology in London at the Middlesex University.
He has successfully completed a large number of complex (research) projects for various types of organisations including, local governments, non-profit organisations, airlines, publishers, insurance companies, retailers, banks and pension funds mainly in the role of project manager, advisor or IT auditor. Daan is the founder and one of the managing partners of Passionned, a consultancy specialising in Business Intelligence, process integration, competence management and strategic ICT.
He is a prolific writer; the author of three books, numerous articles and whitepapers and a well known speaker at congresses on the topic of 'intelligent organisations'. He is the author of the management book 'De intelligente organisatie: prestatieverbetering en organisatie-ontwikkeling met Business Intelligence' (The intelligent organisation: using Business Intelligence for performance improvement and organisational development) and is the organising force behind the annual Business Intelligence Awards for both profit and non-profit organisations (www.biaward.nl). Additionally he has developed part of the material for the Master of Informatics course at the Technical College in Utrecht and lectures at the Nyenrode Business University on Performance Management.
