Carel Meijer

Carel's areas of responsibility within Passionned are CRM, Marketing Intelligence and Information Management.

Having finished his Chemistry degree at Amsterdam University, Carel has spent most of his career in the area between IT and the Business. From the middle to the end of the nineties he worked on database marketing and loyalty systems and after that in mobile telecom. At Vodafone he was responsible for the establishment and running of the Marketing Intelligence department in the Netherlands. Additionally acting as interim Head of CRM, he was responsible for the inception of the Customer Relationship Management system within the Dutch subsidiary of Vodafone. 

In 2004 he moved to the Vodafone Global organisation to head up the extension of the worldwide Customer Base Management system. After returning to the Netherlands, as Head of Information Management, he spent his time designing and implementing the central information management organisation for Vodafone with the goal of aligning the information strategy with the business strategy and carrying the responsibility for the creation of an information driven organisation, which included the central datawarehouse and company-wide information governance. 

Carel has extensive experience in information driven business processes, like direct marketing, CRM, marketing intelligence and also building and leading teams of specialists who coordinate IT with the requirements of the business.
